Press photograph of the aftermath of the Taranto raid

A British press photo of the successful attack on the Italian port of Taranto in November 1940. This was conducted by fleet Air Arm Fairy Swordfish launching from aircraft carriers, which led to the destruction of the majority of the Italian capital ships and was inspiration for a Japanese with the latest attack on Pearl Harbour. Measures 20 x 15 cm.
