A Royal armoured corps medal group with paperwork,this is named to Trooper Ernest Desmond Jones HQ squadron, 2nd armoured brigade,(RAC)gunner / mechanic. He served in North Africa and Italy from 1942 and the group consists of boxed medals unworn. Africa star with first army bar and Italy star with soldiers service and pay book discharge papers and certificate of transport to army reserve plus a uniform photo of Ernest. He would have been involved in combat and the HQ squadron used cruiser MK1V tanks plus he was trained on Grants and Sherman's. This is an amazing group to a frontline British Army tanker.
